This gigantic book reproduces and sets in context a superb set of plans and elevations originally commissioned by the Ecole Militaire in Brussels. Each of these plans is reproduced in facsimle on pages which unfold from the book to a size of 24 x 16½ inches.
Covering the major Belgian fortifications in the period 1859 - 1914, the book is divided into three sections, one each for the cities covered; Antwerp, Liège and Namur.
