Henri-Alexis Brialmont was the most famous Belgian fortress-designer and - engineer. Amongst others, he designed and built forts in and around Liege, Namur and Antwerp along the river Meuse.

The reader will find much information on the architectural details of the forts, but also about their armament (the most modern kind of its time!) and equipent - all illustrated with nice drawings and plans.
