The Stalin Line was a Soviet defenceline constructed in the 1930's between - roughly - the Black Sea and the Gulf of Finland over a total length of ca. 1800 km. It consisted of about 3100 heavy concrete casemates, armed with anti-tank and heavy machineguns and underground tunnel systems.
