The book tells the history of how the Belgian coast was occupied during the First World War by the German Marinekorps - who built 38 coastal batteries here.
The book is a careful and detailed study of the defences built by the Germans along Belgium's coastline during the First World War. No less than 38 medium and heavy coastal batteries were built along the Belgian coast by the German Marinekorps. The book is written in Dutch entirely and contains more than 300 photos, battery plans and maps. Many of the photos have not been published before, because they are coming from private collections of German Naval artillerists. ALL batteries are described and pictured in this book! At last a GOOD book on the organisation and "hardware" of these German coastal batteries along Belgium's coast! |
