'The Atlantic Wall in Maps, Bunkers and Occupation in South Holland' describes the story of
the Atlantic Wall in South Holland on the basis of 120 unique maps and plans and dozens
of photos from archives and private collections from the Netherlands and abroad. In a thematic way,
the book deals with the planning and construction of the defences, the occupying forces,
the consequences for the civilian population, exercises and actual combat on land, at sea and
in the air and finally the aftermath of five years of occupation. With this both broad and
in-depth approach, a new standard work has been created. The book has no less than 328 pages
in large format, so that the cards and photos can be easily researched. |
