A detailed and well-documented description of the German bunkers in the coastal defence of the Fortress IJmuiden (Holland) in World War Two.
The book is a well-documented and thoroughly researched book about the German bunkers that were part of the coastal defences of the Fortress IJmuiden (Holland) during World War Two, the so-called "Seefront". The book consists of a VERY detailed description of all the German positions - coastal batteries, anti-aircraft batteries, infantry positions, radarstations, etc. along the coast between the towns of Heenskerk and Bloemendaal. Each position is pictured with a batteryplan and/or a map, showing the positions of all the bunkers. The next step is to describe the function of each site and of the most important bunkers on site. The book is written in Dutch and illustrated with 120 photos -of which many contemporary, taken during the war or right after - 95 drawings and bunkerplans and 50 maps and batteryplans. An absolute fantastic book for anyone interested in the bunkers of the Atlantic Wall!
