Scheveningen - The Hague 1940-1945

The book is a photographical history and survey of the bunkers and other defences of the Atlantic Wall in the Scheveningen / The Hague-region in Holland.

The Hague was an important town during World War Two for the Germans. It housed most of the military and civilian authorities and organisations. These had to be defended from an Allied attack or invasion. This was the reason for the construction of a huge amount of bunkers, anti-tankwalls and - ditches and other defences.

This book shows almost 400 photos, plans and maps of these defences. Most of the photos were taken during or right after the war. But there is also a part with "new" photos - photos taken in recent days of the remaining bunkers and defences. Many of these photos were taken underground in the bunkers and tunnelsystems that are still present.

The book is written in Dutch.
