Description

After the Germans invaded Holland in May 1940, they made an inventory of all fortifications and defences they found in the country. They also made a valorisation of the quality of these fortifications and defences, resulting in this VERY DETAILED and thorough book, that contains a tremendous amount of information on the quality and quantity of fortifications and defences in Holland in 1940. The scans of some of the pages in the books show the details of the information given in the Denkschrift. These Denkschrifts were made from the fortifications in Czechoslaovakia, Poland, Belgium, France, Greece, Russia and some other countries.

This is still the best book published when you want to know anything about the state in which fortifications were in Holland in the early 1940s, Illustrated with more than 230 photos, drawings, plans and maps (some in colour!) and written in German.
