"Batterie Lindemann" is probably the most famous and most photographed heavy coastal battery of the German Atlantic Wall. It was certainly a very impressive battery with its 40.6 cm guns in their massive bunkers. Almost everything is "gone" now - covered with sand from the Channel tunnel. This book shows the history of this German battery - from its construction to its burial. With the use of HUNDREDS of photos (mostly wartime), drawings, plans and maps. The book is written in French. It also tells the history of some of the other heavy coastal batteries in the area - some names: "Grosser Kurfürst", "Friedrich August", "Batterie Todt", "Batterie Prinz-Heinrich", etc. - also illustrated with MANY photos, plans, etc. |
