The book describes the Atlantic Wall along the entire French coast. One of the best books published so far about the subject!
Published in 1995. the book is probably one of the hardest-to-find books on the subject. Illustrated with more than 1200 photos, plans, drawings and maps. the book traces the ENTIRE Atlantic Wall in France. Starting in the north, along the Belgian-French border, the authors describe the individual coastal batteries, the anti-aircraft batteries, infantry strongpoints, radarstations, etc. etc. Most of the descriptions of the individual sites contain siteplans - but also floorplans of the most important individual bunkers and structures on each site. The book is illustrated with MANY HUNDREDS of contemporary (read: wartime) photos, but also with many modern photos, that show the structures in their present state. This book is an ABSOLUTE MUST for anyone with an interest in the Atlantic Wall in general, but with an interest in the French part of it in particular. The book is written in French - EXTREMELY RARE!! |
