The Citadel of Sarzana

Beautifully illustrated book about the history of the magnificent citadel of Sarzana in Italy. Originally built in the 15th century, this fortress was restored in the 1990's.

The book is a detailed description of the design and construction of the citadel - but it offers more: it is a description of the architectural details of the citadel and its surroundings.

In the 1990's the citadel was beautifully restored, using original techniques and building materials, resulting in the beautiful example of Medicean fortification that it is today.

The book is written in Italian and is illustrated with more than 100 photos, drawings, floorplans and maps - most of these in full-colour. Beautiful book on a equally beautiful fortress!
