The book is a description and typology of the "Tobruks" or "Ringstände" in the Atlantic Wall and Südwall in France.
As part of the Atlantic Wall and Südwall, the Germans built thousands of small concrete structures called "Tobruks" or better: "Ringstände". Built in concrete, these structures were specially descigned to house different types of weapons, ranging from machine guns to flame throwers or anti-tank guns. This book shows the reader the different types of tobruks and how they were used. The book is written in French, has 64 (stapled) pages and is illustrated with more than 250 photos, drawings and plans. Most of the photos are contemporary (wartime-) photos and show the tobruks "in use". The Atlantic Wall was the defenceline along the west coast of Europe - the Südwall was the German defenceline along the Mediterranean Sea. |
